The daily routine

Blue trees, green seas, and birds chirping. I’m lying there on the sand beach enjoying the warm sun and suddenly a familiar melody comes in the wind. Before I could realize the tune, I’d be sucked into reality only to realize that it was my alarm tone – (🎵🔈🔈💥🎵 I’vvvveee becommmme so numb!! I can feel you thereeee! Become so dumb…! 🎵🔈🎵). Waking up with the loss of orientation and loss of memory and few other losses, I would try my best to get out of the bed. A few days later I came to understand one of the main laws of Physics – “The gravity near the bed is 10 times more in the morning”.

After much difficulty, I get up and instantly become The Flash. You can see streaks of light and wind hushing as I get ready for work. I would be completely freshened up and all set to start work at my home office in 5 mins. I realized that I can bend space and time while I’m getting ready for work. At 9.30 I’m in bed, 9.35 – in the office attending my daily standup call – “Hi all, Good Morning, Are you able to hear me? Shall I share my screen? Oh sorry, I forgot to connect my headphones! Give me a minute!”.

Meetings, again meetings, then small meetings, and some programming, again one more meeting, then comes lunch break. Whatt!? It’s 3? My folks would be waiting for me at the dining table so that I will join them for lunch. World politics, Illuminati, What dogs do in their free time? Can cats think? These are the topics that generally go around at the table. A small piece of advice – Never talk about neighboring people/kids while eating unless you want your parents to compare you with them and give life advice while eating. Focus on the food, if not, you will never know when a big hot red chili is going inside your mouth.

Okay, now it’s post-lunch. The monitor screen starts to blur out, the volume starts to fade out. I’ll be drifting away in my chair into my dreams. Suddenly, I’ll be awakened by the voice “Hey Sam!!! Are you there? Please unmute!” that comes from my teammates/boss. Then after the power nap, I get infinite focus, attention, intelligence, problem-solving capacity, and many other powers. Damn! You should try power napping, it helps a lot! (Lame excuse, for sleeping after lunch).

Okay, sitting on the chair from morning to evening is not going to help me, it’s time to pump up my heart. So I’ll be going out cycling or a nearby gym (Now, due to lockdown, I’m locked down in my home). Woosh, 2 hours would fly by. Now again, it’s dinner time. Everything stays similar to lunch, except the sunlight outside and the time (It’s 8.30). Okay not everything, food would change of course (Mostly). Then there’s a prayer that goes by at the same time every day. After that, it’s the time to speak with my loved ones, mostly over the phone. Finally, I get relieved from all the things of this world and get ready for my interstellar journey.

Jumping to bed, I would try to do some creative stuff, but finally end up writing posts like this. Then I would use my phone to summon sleep to my eyes. One sheep, Two sheep, Three sheep, and now I gotta sleep. Blue trees, green seas, and birds chirping… 👆 (If you want to know my routine for the next day… Please read again from the top. 😀)

  1. Haha, Sam! I am retired, so it’s easy for me to say, “Time to get out of your rut and put a little excitement into your life!” Truth is, my life tends to be pretty routine too. 🙂 Write when you feel like it. I’ll read. ❤

  4. What an enjoyable read!!! I loved the law of physics about how gravity works near beds – life would have been easier if I knew of this law before 😉 and yess Flash mode at work with my boys doing school from home! Also I like the term interstellar journey – ah life gets so interesting when we describe it so well 🙂
