How to gain 30 followers in 30 days for your blog?

Hey yo, I hope you all are having a good day and hope that this post finds you well. A hearty thanks to all the ‘OffshoreWritings’ followers and readers! Without you, we couldn’t have come this far. We started this blog on April 8, 2020, because of the boredom that the COVID lockdown gave us and then we got attracted to it and thought “Hey, why don’t we take this seriously and do it full time?”. Full time like trying to post consistently every day. And yes we are here, with 34 followers and about 2k views. We don’t want to be a douchebag bragging about our skills or writings, we are nothing when compared to the blogs that are famous and provide quality content to people. One day, we hope, we too will be there. Hope you will travel with us.

The title looks like a clickbait, but it’s not. I have shared the things that we have done so far so that you too could follow and achieve what we achieved. We didn’t want it to keep it as a secret, we wanted it to share it with the world, so that people who are like us, beginners, could get an idea. Also, I’m not going to write a four-page article explaining this. I’ll keep it short so that you guys could skim. For the people who have very little time, or are super busy, you can click here (or scroll to the bottom), where I have summarised the important points.

  1. We took the first step.
Yes, we started a blog. People think this as a Herculean task, but actually, it is very simple. Just go to and get started right away. If you are finding it hard to set up a blog, ping us at, we could provide you suggestions or help you out!
  2. We wrote, We wrote, We wrote.
After starting our blog, we didn’t know what to write, but we wrote. We wrote two to three articles per day at the start. When we saw something interesting we thought “Let us share this with our readers” and we did. Many people do the first step and get bored or demotivated in the second. Our tip for you is here: keep writing. It doesn’t matter if it is long or short, whether it has quality content or not. Pour the words that flow in your mind. Use the blog as your journal. Gradually you will see yourself writing good quality content and providing more value to the readers.
  3. Troubled our friends to read.
WordPress by default gives you readers, through their discover section but that is not sufficient. You need to request (trouble) your friends, family, and colleagues to read or at the most ask them to visit your site. People might read for your sake initially and gradually they might stick around if you provide good content. Just don’t push them too much, you might end up getting blocked πŸ˜‰
  4. Started a Facebook Page
We started a Facebook page just to extend our reach and not gonna complain, it has helped us to get more views. Having a Facebook page mainly helps you to post pictures and videos that you don’t want to post here on WordPress. It also improves your branding. As you get more likes on the page, Facebook is going to send out people from there to your blog.
  1. Featured Images, Titles and Excerpts are crucial
These are like the face of every blog post you publish. People look at it and decide whether they have to click the link or not so select the images and titles wisely. They drive 50% of the traffic into your blog. For people who are wondering what an excerpt is – it is a two to three-line description of the article that you are writing.
  2. Engaged with our readers and other writers
Of course, you need to interact with the people who engage with you through comments, likes, and follows. Treat them as to how you would treat a real person whom you would meet in real life. Read other blogs that inspire you. Post your comments there. Give them a thumbs up. You might not know what they would do in return. They could follow you!! but who knows? Just keep engaging and interacting with people.
  3. Read more content
Writing, writing, writing! At one point our brains were drained of good quality content. So what did we do? We started reading other blogs, articles, journals for inspiration. We improved our knowledge drastically and started sharing it here. When you read more, you feel to write more.
  4. Kept watching our stats
Haha, this is what we did every day. We studied our followers, the people who liked our articles, people who commented. This helped us to write articles based on the interests of our readers. For example, the poems and short stories that we wrote gained more traction so we decided to focus more on poems and stories.

So these were the things that we did and as you could see these are our stats. You know who played a very big role in all of this? It is you! Yes, you! Without you we are nothing. So please keep supporting as you always do.

1. Start a blog
2. Write 1 post per day
3. Ask your friends to read
4. Start a Facebook page (optional)
5. Use apt images, titles (important)
6. Engage with your readers
7. Read more
8. Understand your stats

At this point we also wanted to give a shoutout to our first 5 followers, who followed us when we began, even when we were not posting good content. Let us help each other and grow together in this community. Here’s our first five followers list, also follow them, they have valuable content.

We know this is not a great achievement, there is a long way to go. We just have shared what we have done. Please let us know in the comments, any tips or techniques that you used to grow your blog’s followings. Thank you

  1. That’s wonderful! You have a very fast growth!

When I first started in January, 2020, I had only 200+ views and 5 likes, 2 comments

But the key to it all is knowing your readers and the content they want.

You are doing an amazing job and I’m very proud of the both of you.

Very soon, you both will be blogsters and will look back at these days and smile.
